In the mid-1920s, the first vehicles began to be made into passenger buses

In 1930, in Hibbing, MN, Motor Transit Corporation became Greyhound

The Greyhound Dog was introduced

They had sleeper coaches and bathrooms

Learn why you never used the Restrooms while in bus stations.

The toilets were positioned ahead of the rear wheels, so everything was squished

Yellow Coach was part of GM Trailways was also starting up about then Hot Dogs and Hamburgers were 10 cents at that time

White Motors also made buses, and they were very popular Yellow Coach started building nicer coaches to compete with White Motors

During the war, you could not sell any buses, and you had to maintain the ones you had

Luggage was carried on the roof back then

Greyhound Van Lines ran into the 60s
In 1936, GM built the X1 bus exclusively for Greyhound Pusher buses were designed, and front-engine buses went by the wayside

Upscale Restaurants served as bus stations.

Greyhound Post Houses were then built, with about 4 hours between stations

The Greyhound Supercoach was born

Greyhound also had Pullman-style sleeper coaches to steal passengers from the railroad

Air-conditioned coaches became a thing

The first Greyhound Silversides were 33 feet long. The maximum length allowed.
