GM sells Allison Transmission

GM has sold Allison Transmission to a private equity group.

I wonder if this could mean trouble for those with older Allison transmissions?  Does Allison make enough money from the older products to continue supplying parts?  Of course, the tranmissions seem to be so reliable that parts aren't needed too often.

With Detroit and Allison both now seperate from GM I wonder if service for Allison transmissions will become more wide spread?  Right now, it seems that any work on the newer World transmissions gets referred to Detroit dealers who also service Allison.

just another way for the German MB to get it later and there is so many after market manufactures for Allision you will still have plenty of parts
