That is a true statement except for one thing, in Cali when you're looking down from a mountain you can only see the top of the smog layer!
I'll add that after we descended off of Mt Whitney with the 13 day trek to get to Whitney - I remember getting out of my buddies Jeep in Lone Pine and "floating" across Hwy 295 pavement not wearing the 65 lb. backpack and drinking beer & eating pizza until we had to crawl to the motel next door and sat in the hot shower all night - & oh it felt sooo good! LOL  :^

My grandparents all immigrated to the US from Italy. My grandpa here in LV always said to me Italy and California are the same, same weather, same cities, same farming and same earthquakes!

They both share Mediterranean climate which I have read is the most comfortable climate on the books for humans.  :^

Italy has its share of deserts too like CA,hard to understand a place like Accona gets 31 inches of rain a year and is a desert,Tenneco bought their clay there for the Catalytic cracking in the chemical plant Accona Desert is the only place in  the world you good get the gray clay for the ceramic beads used in the units
