Just a matter of time before they get the older bus conversions and RV's .A friend in NM sold a low mileage truck 2003 model and had to buy it back because CA would not register anything older than a 2005 model

That is the way it reads nothing older than 2010 most truckers running in and out of Ca don't run 15-year-old trucks anyways;the law will hurt in state truckers mostly,I have seen a lot of the older truck being piggy back out of the state at Neddles Ca lately and some buses on lo-buoys headed east

Hasn't actually started yet and Arnold was the first to try it years ago when he was governor. Now that Newsome is there he is trying all kinds of stuff so he thinks he will run for the big office next??????

Newsome is closing the door now with all his BS ,a house goes up for sale here now and we get people from CA bidding on the place.it's crazy our friend down the street sold his place for double the price he was asking for 6 months ago.I am putting this place up for sale maybe,I am getting tired of leasing the place from the tax man anyways

As I understand, the CARB rule does not apply to personal vehicles, just government and corporate vehicles. Of course, are all of the schools and government entities going to be in compliance? There are a lot of dump trucks and water tenders that are very old - might be just enough to upend the road construction industry for a while...typical CA

My 1985 Kenworth cabover motorhome is a good example. One of the mechanics in California that worked on my truck had an identical truck conversion. But the big difference his was registered as an "recreational vehicle, or RV" and DMV refused registration. But mine was registered as a "Motorhome or MH" and had no problem getting registered. It's all in the wording. Course now being in Idaho, they don't care. It is so nice to see trucks smoking with open exhausts!
Good Luck, TomC

You see a lot of smoke during potato and sugar beet season in Idaho ,then trucks pulling double trailers with a 150,000 lbs of potatoes or beets headed for Nampa those haulers don't even stop at a weight station during harvest time. How are you liking the four seasons of Idaho ? I loved 3 of the seasons, some winters can be brutal in the Treasure Valley that I didn't care for

I say get out. Let California fall on it's face, get it over with already. I wouldn't go there anymore for anything just my little boycott. It's a beautiful state but run by absolute idiot's for many years now but I'm guessing the voter's must have got what they wanted right.

It would be a better state again if some would just leave...  IMO

You are not going to completely boycott California it is the breadbasket for the US,with out Ca grocery stores shelfs would be empty ,Newsome may be working on that though

You see the results when a state is controlled totally by one political party for years. Can be just as bad if controlled by opposing party for that length of time. Things will change eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I recall when Reagan cut the approved budget in Ca by a 1/2 billion dollars and thought state employees weren't initialed to the huge cost of living increases the house passed since the rest of Americans were dealing with hard times, he got a lot of flak for that even in the national news

what's the hoopla? Isn't this just one more phase in the CARB rules put in years ago. Like adding DEF and then banning two strokes etc. We've already hear the howls from interstate truckers getting loads into Calif. If this is the same thing then we personal bus owners are ok. 2 strokes got the pass.
I've forgotten about the 4 stroke bans. Lots of buses had to get a hole in the engine or sold out of state and I think personal bus use was treated same as commercial, not sure. There was a phaseout plan that went took a few years to be done
