Effective January 1st, Open Roads will no longer allow transactions of any type at Pilot ,Flying J or One9 locations.  We have been in discussion with Pilot over the past two years toward the possibility of a renewed partnership and discount opportunity that unfortunately did not materialize.  While disappointed, we do feel at this time we must remove them from our fuel program to reduce  misunderstandings of discount locations. Again in closing, the EFS Open Roads Card will NOT  be accepted for purchasing fuel or additional products as of January 1,2023 at all Pilot, Flying J, and One9 Locations.

I was told by the broker Berkshire/Hathaway is buying Pilot/Flying J Buffett owns the railroads why not control fuel price for trucks it's a viscus circle and game money people play.The way Buffett buys he won't even need Government approval ,Buffett has been buying Occidental Petroleum for a year now

It's no big loss, as there was no discount at P/FJ with TSD anyway.

Only real difference is that you won't be able to use your TSD card there anymore.

P/FJ is hooked up with Good Sam for their fuel program, I think there's a 6¢/g discount if you're a GS member. How generous of P/FJ, eh?

Besides TSD, I also use Mudflap and GasBuddy (along with Google Earth to see if I fit) when sourcing fuel.

All you get with the cards is a break on the overpriced fuel at truck stops anyways it is mostly about marketing and tracking,leave the interstate system and places usually have fuel cheaper without a card, I travel with a Shell and Texaco card and with their discounts it is better most of the time, I noticed Loves has increased bank credit card prices again.Me I am not paying 6 cents a gal for credit card use Loves pays a flat fee for the transaction no matter what the amount is, the volume they do it is probably less than $.10 no where close to $.06 a gal,Truck stops are convenient to get in and out of with a bus,I am never in hurry now anyways if I do stop at Loves I use the front islands where they don't have all the fees. Truck fueling islands in AZ they don't take the $.08 cents a gal off for RV use either, traveling in bus you need fuel, so you suck it up and pay whatever you need to get down the road. We got caught up in the mess in 2006 or 2007 (whatever year Waynes's rally was in CO) on the road we left home fuel was $1.25 a gal before we got back home in 3 months it was $5.00 that will get your attention For 20+ years when F/J was not Pilot it was the go-to place for Rv's they had the best prices free dumping, water and cheap propane prices,the Call family are making a come back though with Maverick locations now

Maverick calls Utah home now,they were in Idaho in the 50's and Wy back in 30's nice stores now they are the only place I seen 3 different grades of diesel fuel,I heard they bought more property in Ft Mohave with plans to tear down the old Maverick that has been there for years and build one easier for RV's to access

All the Maverick stores I've been in,(many) have the space in the front islands for me to maneuver with a 38 plus towed, with travic, without much trouble..>>>Dan

Won't happen at the Ft Mohave Maverick hard to get your pick up into unless you come in from the rear of the store you never see a RV there it is hard for those to get in and out at the light on 95 ,it does need to be upgraded

Maverick recently added large fuel station and truck pumps in Prescott Valley AZ.  Very nice to have this so close to home base.  Good prices as well.

Costco in Prescott AZ with their new fuel station, which also sells diesel, also changed their government stickers to say it's OK to fill up a vehicle with 3 axles and over 26,500 lbs IF it's a non commercial RV.  We were chased out of their old facility by an over-zealous attendant because of our 3 axles.  Haven't been back to Costco w/a bus since.  Lowest diesel prices around though, from what I've seen.

LOL I have had argument with stations for years Phil all they have do is read the fine print on the label and it tells you school buses and RV 's are exempt.I had a clerk in Winslow call the law on me before because he didn't read the fine print ,the state trooper read it to him though

You were ok in AZ those pumps have 8 cents of taxes removed for RV's and diesel cars and pickups it is not to be used for commercial use,here they watch the entertainer buses and class 8 trucks.Truck fuels islands add the 8 cents a gal back,It has changed now the owners of some stations raise the price and  keep the 8 cents.You  can fill at truck islands but the paper work to get the 8 cents back is not worth it IMO.We have red diesel pumps here to for generators if you have a separate tank with no taxes
