Stronger springs. i can tell you first hand those doors are heavy. I had the springs break and man on man, I can imagine how that felt.

That is no fun.  If you're like me, just about the time it happens you think "I should do this differently before I get hurt" then it happens....

Thanks for all the input.
Did not drill it. Almost don't feel it today. I've had worse especially on my toes. Getting older is not all bad. I remember getting a bee sting as a kid and felt it all the way to my fillings. Hurt for a long time. My doctor said that as our nerves age, they wither. I told my doctor I can't hold onto things as well. Especially picking little things up. He told me we lose our fingerprints as we age. With it your dexterity for such things. Also told me my back hurts because I am old.

He is a very good doctor. But he tells me things I don't like hearing.

And I still pay him??

Ted -

Reminds me of the fellow in his late 50s who went in to see his Dr for his annual physical.

After the MA did the usual routine of checking all of his vitals, Dr came into the exam room, checked his chart, then asked a few more questions, which were answered with various positive and negative comments.

Dr wraps up and tells the guy that overall he's in pretty good shape, but that he might want to stop burning the candle at both ends.

"But Doc," the fellow says. "I don't want to hear that - I came in to find out how to get a longer candle!"

Ted,

With all your talk of selling the bus, I hope this doesn't fortify that kind of talk. Once I was roofing my house using ordinary roofing nails and a roofing hammer (the waffle head kind). I hit my thumb and boy did it hurt. Then I got over it. 10 minutes later I hit the same thumb again. I nearly fell off the roof!

In the future, please do not share pictures of your injuries (assuming this happens again). It makes me break into a code sweat!

All the roofers I see hit a finger the way they hold the roofing tack,me I drive the staples through one of my fingers with an air stapler and it hurts like hell trying to get your finger from the roof deck
