Look what I just picked up today for $100 - a complete Pro-Link 9000 kit with a DDEC I & II cartridge, the operating manuals, and the cables. Perfect for the 8V92T engine in my '92 Prevost XL.

Backstory - Stopped by a local charter bus outfit last week to say hello and ask if they do any "outside" work on private coaches. (No, they don't...)  Anyway, got to talking and happened to mention I was looking for a Pro-Link for a DDEC II. Owner said let's talk to the shop guy, shop guy said I think there's one in the parts room. Sure enough, there was - sitting on a top shelf all covered with dust - probably has been sitting there since they sold off their last two-stroke coach.

So now all I need is the Pro-Link cartridge for the ATEC transmission, either a 201009 or a J-3500-302A, to round out these diagnostic tools.

FWIW. . .  ;)

The DDEC l and ll cartridge will not read the later ECM  ll manufactured by Motorola so don't get upset if it doesn't just buy another cartridge

How can I tell if my ECM is made by Motorola?

I ran into this exact problem after I bought my Pro-Link with a DDEC I/II cartridge, and it wouldn't talk with my ECM.   I bought a II/III cartridge, and it works well with it.   Ergo, I must have a later Motorola ECM!   I also have a spare ECM, so maybe my I/II cartridge will work on that?

So if I was to set up an ebay automatic search for one of these what search terms would I want to use?
Pro-Link 9000 plus DDEC III maybe? ('96 MCI 102DL3)

Jim
I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

That is the correct unit the 9000/Plus is the better choice than the 9000 for the DDEC lll.I have a new 9000 plus with the printer,DDEC,Bendix and B500 cartridges I have never used I may put on Ebay before long

Here's the data tag off my ECM. Can you tell from it if I've got a Motorola unit? (Click on the pic to enlarge it.)

That is the 12v Motorola ,since it was replaced 10/14 they may have programed the ECM to read the old software, they do that and the only way to tell is plug it in,to bad they didn't upgrade it to 24 volt where you didn't have to worry about the 12v.Ten years old I would be buying a spare,WW Wiliams had 2 new DDEC ll for $4000.00 ea
