Anyone know where the brake light switch on a MCI MC-9 is. I just found out my brake lights are on all the time.

Thanks!

All the time when parked running, or all the time when driving?

One is supposed to, the other does not.

Brake pedal returning to fully upright/released?

You may be dragging the brakes, and the switch is fine. You need to investigate both.

Tell us some more of the story.

Happy coaching!

The brake lights are supposed to be on with the ignition on and the park brakes on. They turn off when you push the park brake switch off, and come on when you push the service brake pedal. The switch is in the spare tire compartment.

Thanks JC for writing. I was hoping it wasn't under the bus... that would have been a problem. I know the brake lights come on when I turn the ignition on and I know they stay on during air-up and until I push the parking brake in and do a service application to release the brakes, but for some reason they have been staying on. I have to look at the wipers too. I needed them when I was driving back from Lakeside to Phoenix for about 5 minutes during a short downpour... 1st time in 10 years and they didn't work. I've got the bus up on eBay and I'd like to get them working for the new owner.

Thanks again for writing JC!

Best of my memory JC is correct it is accessed through spare tire compartment or the service compartment below the drivers seat on the outside of the coach. It is an air/electric switch if memory serves me correct and I have seen them fail. Easy enough to get a replacement from Luke or any heavy duty truck parts place.
