My bus holds 200 gallons and I left home for Evansville full. Back home today I had to put 135 back in it at $5.25 per gallon at our Walmart. $706 dollars but it was worth it. Robert Glines was a generous host and after I blew right past his driveway, he got me parked beside his shop. He and Judy took me downtown to have a burger at the restored Greyhound terminal. Seeing it in person was a bigger deal to me than I thought it might be. It has the neon motion sign of the greyhound running. Very cool thing to see. Burgers were good but do NOT order the onion rings as a snack unless you are a Sumo Wrestler (Huge rings on a frisbee sized plate,)
Next day we took our buses to an old engines and steam show for 4 days. His family from Fla surprised him by showing up so he had all the grandkids there and the boys just flocked around him for 4 days learning to fix things and run steam engines.
Great trip up and back with bus running smooth. I know prices are making us all cranky, but taking this trip and getting to share his family doing something they love was perfect therapy for cranky. Thank you Bob and Judy for treating me like family.

Nice. I planned to take my bus to Texas next month if I could get it far enough along. I haven't even hardly started on the wiring, so we're going to have to take the pickup instead. I have a full tank of fuel all ready for the first trip, but it will have to wait until maybe September.

Ted pulled his weight on this trip. Probably more than. Good fellowship! That's what our community is all about.  Till next time. The tractor in question belonged to grandson. 1924 10 20 Mccormic Deering hadn't run in over 30 yrs. It lives now..

We loved the food at the station there and meet Bob for the first time there also. Took us on a tour of his Bus. Bob is a real nice fellow.

What Dave said...
Good fellowship like that takes the pain out of the fuel price & converts it to happiness.
Great trip Ted.
