Has anyone installed a dual zone 240V mini split unit into their bus? I am wanting to run mine off inverter as our conversion will not have a generator. I've been told it is not advisable, mostly due to the cost.

Thanks,.

Amazing the "advice" one gets from people...

Expensive? Doesn't have to be...

Look for a step-up transformer, 120 to 240.

Remember that your amperage consumption at 120 is double for proper sized wiring.

Have you calculated the amount of battery that you will need, for the run time you desire?

What are you using for re-charging your batteries, if you have no generator?

Happy coaching!

Hey buswarrior, we'll be charging the battery through shore power, when available, otherwise it will be solar, and the monster 50DN alternator when driving or idling. We dont plan to be "disconnected" for long period of time. We may stop, and spend a night at a rest stop from time to time, but it will be mostly going between state parks, and rv campgrounds. We plan to have around 20kW available, which should give us a good night's rest with a/c on full blast.
