We are staying at a nice campground here, BUT, right under where planes take off, plus helicopters, and military jets from their base. Thankful for noisy rooftop airconditioner to drown out most of the noise. TV reception goes wacky when they fly over.
Anyway, the homelessness is worse than I expected. Tents in town on many streets, on freeway ramp grass, under many bridges and along several roads here. Also, scores of old motorhomes sitting along back industrial roads, with lots of tents, debris, shopping carts loaded with clothes, belongings, debris strewn everywhere.Dont have a clue who supplied those old motorhomes for homeless to live in. Also one RTS.
Really sad what Portland has turned into. Worse than Sanfransisco. I wanted to post a drive by video, but too large to add.

That's a sad picture you painted and 10-4 on the white noise roof rattler - we love it for getting rid of the outside... Safe travels.

So sad, the wife used to work in Portland and Washington area. Used to be a lot of little family run shops and places to eat etc. Ciity parks and the river were clean family places. Now you can't even get to a lot of them or they are closed down. :'(

Kudos to you bus nuts that are traveling! We're stuck in neutral for a spell as life has a way of getting in the way and we that aren't traveling appreciate the updates on what's happening out there.

There is an RV park next to the freeway at the Ridgefield exit on I-5 about 14 miles after you cross the river into Wa. We stay there when in the area as we have family nearby.
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

All the RV parks in Boise are booked solid and it is not from tourists all the people are from Boise they have sold their $100,000 home to people from CA for $500,000.00 and moved in to campers. It is crazy what is going on in Boise Id we sold 3 rentals we owned for years in 2 days people were bidding  :) affordable housing in Boise Id is long gone lol and so are all the fruit orchards it is sad indeed

Thing I can especially see in Ca. Is after the wildfires which are bigger than last year, that if they start getting monsoon rains, everything will get washed to the sea or lowlands, since little left to absorb the water.
Reminds me of the dust bowls in the 30's
Meanwhile, back home in Pa. they have had a great deal of rain all summer.
In our travels, we have had almost rain since Tenn/Arkansas, over two months.

Same thing has happened here in Wisconsin with regard to real estate prices, and it has nothing to do with people moving here from out west. Seems like the real estate market has gone off the rails during the past year or so. Hope it's not setting up for another crash.

The price of material, labor and land has pushed the prices up too,but in Boise it is people on the move, and the market will crash just like in 2007 this time I am ready  :^

I believe the market will crash again. It's a bubble ready to pop. We were ready then in 2008 & we'll be ready again. We don't ride the wave we just live through them. Recovered everything plus more since 2008. No worry here just keep on keeping on...

Your dollar is not worth anything now ,plus the inflation you never really gain anything plus you have a partner you lease the property from and you never own it, the taxing authorities own the property that is the part that pisses me off, they have not 1 penny invested but reap the benefits from your money and work,I know some that the taxes on their home are more than payments on the loan balance
