Hello all,

Considering an '89 MCI that has some cracked windows.

Where would be the best place lay my hands on some of these without cracks?

And how much would one expect to pay for these?

Thanks

Seb
Back to the U.S. after 8 years in Europe.
Bought a 1997 MCI 102D3 with Allison B500 on November 17, 2021 in Syracuse, NY.  Commenced living it that day and  drove it to Florida and New Mexico.  Converting as we go.  https://basicsuds.com

Josh might have some, I think his parts bus is a '95.

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

I have a large stack of windows out of a 1995 102DL3, they are roughly 36"x56".  We are planning to crush them up soon, I would sell them cheap.

Most converters remove at least half their windows.  I guess those get crushed up pretty quickly too but someone might be storing a few.

They are the same length as the windows in my MC-9 but taller.

From what I've read, Caylor Supply would be who I would call first if I needed windows.

I'd like to have one of those windows, with the aluminum exit bar to replace my lavatory window with something more attractive.

I appreciate that, but I haven't pulled the trigger on the bus yet.  One of them that I'm looking at has 4 cracked windows.

If I do get it I will sure get in touch with you, but even if I do it won't be till November when we get back to the U.S.

Waiting is the hardest part.

I just ope we can travel then?  :-\

Seb,

That comment was for Jim.

Of course you are welcome to pick some up too, if they are still here, maybe Jim would like to store them  ;D

Uh... not really? I'm waiting to hear back from Rick so I can see if he's willing to pick one up for me. Eventually I'll be looking at replacing a few of them with sliders, when that time comes I should have some extras to get rid of also but as I expect those are going to be expensive that may not be for awhile. If Rick can't do it, I will need to make a trip to Elkhart soon for surplus kitchen appliances and such and should be able to stop by then.

I didn't think you would want to store them, I was trying to be funny.

I thought it was pretty funny. ;)

Anyway Rick said no problem, so I'll text him your contact info again and he'll be in touch.

I'll PM you about cost and if there are any other bits I can think of.

This is for Jim.

A small screw+clip needs to be removed from each end of the hinge.

Then open the window to about 50 degrees, and push up toward the hinge.  The window will fall out.

First picture -> hinge with window closed.
Second picture -> window open 50 degrees and hinge is starting to slip apart.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for. Should make swapping windows easy. I measured the lavatory window and it is the same width as the other windows as expected.
