On a 60 minute report, there were many children reported,  that cross the border to go to school in the US everyday, moms and dads that work on long term jobs in US and cross back for the night to the MEX border towns. I know of a couple companies in southern CA, that moved their hazardous material portion of their business right across the border, while keeping their lighter equipment part of their business in CA...

Like moving the power plant from Laughlin to Mexico because pollution was to bad now it is South of us and guess which way the wind comes from in the summer here

I wonder how many crossing the border get Covid checks? We have had issues at Penn State with so many international students attending and covid case numbers high. Seem to finally be going down. Campgrounds around Honesdale and Poconos area and hotels saw a huge of influx of New Yorkers way above normal. Tough to find spots in Campgrounds.

I have been going back and forth across the border at Yuma for dental work during the last couple of weeks....nobody at the Mexican entry, coming into the US all they ask about  is medications or purpose of visit.

Don't do it if you can help it. A friend of my mom's went down there for a procedure to save money. She saved money but several problems came up later and then she had to spend a ton of money to have a credible American dentist just to fix what the idiot goofed up.

We were in Algodonis once and saw an ambulance backed up to a dentist office and someone being carried out on a stretcher.  Wasn't you was it Ed?

So true I have spent over 15k on Sonja's dental work so far and still have another $7304.90 to go in Aug all because of a $4500.00 dentist in Mexico

I had determined the Mex dentistry quality is more miss than hit. But my plans to get the work done in Thailand are derailed with COVID. There are very high quality medical services in Thailand and cost savings are substantial. Getting recommendations from long time locals makes it worth the gamble; otherwise, could be a Mex situation if not careful.

I would just stay away from Canada all together until all this Covid crap goes away. Canada is still locked down. They are only allowing US tourists to drive through to Alaska. If you deviate from your route, you WILL be arrested. So trying to be a tourist in Canada will not happen now, the police in Canada are being quite extreme. Just go somewhere else besides Canada, for now. Good Luck, TomC

At the risk of putting this thread back on topic .... "Canada" is a big country. Treating the entire country as one homogeneous group is like blaming Texas for the lunacy that occurs in Kalifornia.  Here in Saskatchewan we have had the highest China Flu survival rate in the entire country and simultaneously the least impact on our daily lives. Where we live the "pandemic" has passed almost unnoticed.  As far as police enforcement of Covid nonsense goes, I'm sure there are isolated examples where it has actually happened but I'm equally sure those isolated incidents have been repeated in some of the US states as well.  If you feel the urge to bring your tourist dollars into Canada please do - we need all the help we can get paying our ballooning federal debt.
