I and a couple friends just got back from the movies. We went to see "Ghost Rider", with Nicolas Cage.
Now, I'm not reccomending going out and seeing this movie, as it's probably not what allot of you would consider "your cup'o tea" but.......... I like scoots. It's pretty good, but a bit cheesey.
Anyway, in the movie when Nicolas grows up, he goes on tour doing jumping stunts like Evel did. And he has a Tour Bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yeaaaaaaah baaaaaby!!!  ;D ;D ;D Bad thing is, you only get to see it a couple times and I couldn't quite make out what it was. (Did you rent them your bus Ron??? lol :D)
It looked like a GMC, as best I could tell, but I don't think it was a buffalo. It seemed short for some reason too. But that could be because I wanted to see more.  :o
So if any of you decide to go see the movie, keep your eyes peeled about a quarter of the way thru, after he does the first big stadium jump, for the bus. I would just like to know what it is. It also has a trailer to match. Both heavily flamed.  (hmmm, might be a paint scheme for me!  :D lol)

Hey Chaz,

I left work early last night to watch the DVD of Ghost Rider.  The bus you saw was a GMC PD 4107 or commonly referred to as a Buffalo.  It's a 35 footer just like the one I used to have (and wish I still did).  You are correct, it is an awesome looking bus!  I had to go back and forth 5 or 6 times to get a good look at it.  It was the best part of the movie!

I liked the movie too... ;D

I wonder if I could make a full length feature film that incorporated all the good things in life and get a hit out of it.

The good things in life?

Busses,
Motorcycles,
open roads,
Zaftig Blondes, Brunettes and Redheads,
Beer,
Busses,
Beer,

oh, and did I mention, Busses? ? ? ? ?  ;D

Maybe we could call it, "Life on the Slant"

Did you happen to mention:

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride

  Brojcol,
I didn't think it was a buffalo, but I only seen it once and didn't catch it. Glad you could check it out a couple times.
    By the way, I have a 4108.

Next time you see it, pay close attention to the "hump" and the slanted windows on the side.  Dead giveaway.  Plus, there was one shot that briefly showed the front.  Unmistakable.

I think the next bus I get, I'm gonna keep the windows.  I like the idea of being able to sightsee wherever you go.

BTW, I saw another good looking 4107/08 on the Johnny Cash movie "Walk The Line".  It was his tour bus!  I almost screamed out in the theatre.  My wife was mortified!

OK guys, there is a made for television movie called "Detour To Terror".  Starring O.J. Simpson, it features a PD 4107 all through the movie.  It is even involves in some stunts, including a life and death race with gun-toting kidnappers on dune buggies.  It's a great bus movie.  And it also has the actual bus sounds, not the replacement sounds you often hear in fims and on TV.

Probably many of you are already aware of it, but the following website gives a pretty comprehensive listing of buses appearing in movies, TV shows, etc.

(My personal favorite: The 4104 in "Coal Miner's Daughter")

That bus in the Johnny Cash Movie is owned by a local guy here in Memphis. Before I had my bus we used it to travel to a gig in Alabama. ON the way back in the middle of the night it had an inside rear flat tire, we limped the next 5 miles to a small town and called a service to come out and fix it. We sat there for about 3 hrs before we were on the road again.

Needless to say, my bus has a spare.

Well, since we're talking about it.  The Clint Eastwood movie, Gauntlet, has a pretty tricked out Eagle, replete with homemade armour for bulletproofing.  It makes me sick what they did to that bus in the end...

Also, there used to be a gatorade commercial that had a beautiful white GMC 4107.  I used to love that commercial!

Then there's the Carowinds commercial featuring a 4101!

Hey Len,

I think the original Honeysuckle Rose was an EAGLE.  But it's been years since I saw that movie.
