Hello all I was leaving parker az had throttle cable issues so I was thinking I'm not getting full throttle but I am I also started having heart problems so I had to leave her. I'm on my way back now to start checking a few things, filters etc. It acts like it not getting full fthrottle but it is any ideas would be helpful

Check your fuel and air filters, could definitely be getting not enough of either or both to feel like a throttle issue.

Well found bad news one air filter completely destroyed so most of it was smashed up against blower screen im sure some got thru how much damage that caused I dont know yet so disappointed I had not caught this I love the bus my grandpa drove this bus his whole career at greyhound the 10yrs or so that they ran em anyway should I be expecting full rebuild what are my next steps? The other filters look good.

Are those oil bath? Or is that decomposed dry air filters. I'd clean it all up, renew filter assemblies, new fuel filters and take it for a run to see how it is doing. Could have got lucky. Did you change the oil before running it? If it runs fine, then change oil.

Those are one of Donnie's (RIP) conversions he called those K&N and sold the kits at RV shows like the big tent in Quartzsite, sad but he can kiss that engine good bye and he is not the 1st,I don't have room or time or I would try and help the guy.The filter material it self won't harm the engine the dust the filter passed is the killer I hope he got lucky

Was the blower screen in tact (not breeched)? Our IL671 after a catastrophic blower disintegration @ high speed was still running and able to do the 5000mi. Journey back home. Like Cliff said - hope you were lucky...
What is the filter media made of? On your other post I thought it was oem steel wool. If the blower inlet screen was not breeched my guess is the engine may survive this...

Any chance just the blower took damage I've got to get it about 100mi. I'm devastated I can't belive I overlooked the 3rd one the other two I pulled down looked clean on been out three times thought it was low power but it still would do 70 mph
The blower screen stopped alot of stuff but not all I'm sure. I'm in parker az trying to get it home now. That's my baby. And I'll never be able to afford a new one so I got to fix her

Clean it all up and run it.

The loss of power could likely just be air obstruction by the bits on the blower screen.

Nothing to be gained now by worrying over it, just button it up and have at it.

Go easy, it'll get you home, you'd be amazed at what condition these can get into, and still run.

And if it is done, nothing going to change taking it home under its own power.

Clean and remove blower screen and take a look at the rotors. Are they all scored up, or do they look ok. You are looking at the top  edge of them. If not sure, take a pic and post. Might need to bump it over to check them all. Dont start it, just crank or bump starter to check them. Dont wear a tie while doing this. If they look ok, consider replacing all three air filters before you head out. Maybe that third one didn't start to disintegrate till you started driving it.

Got bus home for some reason fuel pump will not pull from tank had to place a tank in bedroom run line to bulkhead going to fuel pump and run return line into temporary tank. She ran good cleaned out blower screen I know she took some damage because of grit on rotors. Now that I'm home what should I do how do I get good air filters also need that rubber intake tube mine is all cracked thanks. For all the help

I would sort out the air filters and the rubber boot, then get the fuel line sorted out, change the oil and filter, get it running right as it sits, and THEN think about whether to just run it or start spending huge amounts of money goofing with the engine internals.

Some operation to see whether oil consumption changes, smoking, power, etc.

It's a camper, so if it runs in a polite manner, what else matters?

Don't stampede into engine work, it is the death of many conversions, as the money disappears, and it still doesn't run...

Yep run it till it gives up just stay close to home ,dust and dirt will take a toll but the old inline 6-71 engines will keep on going if you can keep oil in it
