Good sam roadside assistance

I thought I was covered.  I lost 4 lugs on my streetside drive wheel and tried to get Good sam to send out a mechanic to fix it.  I fully expected to pay for the labor and parts, but I expected the mechanic to be dispatched as part of my policy coverage.  They would not do it.  They would tow the coach to the nearest repair shop at no charge.  My argument was it is not safe to roll.  Didn't matter.

It is getting close to renewal for me and I have been reading their detailed plan coverage and nowhere does it say they will dispatch a mechanic.  They make it sound like they will, but honestly, I don't read that they will.  https://www.goodsamroadside.com/findaplan/platinumcomplete.cfm

Has anyone else run into this?

so...... coachnet? AAA?

I got terminated from GS for too many calls, my kid kept locking his keys inside his car. The winch-out off the cliff didn't help either I'm sure. grrrrr.

I heard coach-net was good.  I signed up last year, drove 5000 miles but never had to use it.  Biggest thing I'm concerned about is when I signed up they said "Vehicles older than 40 years don't qualify".  Mine turns 40 this year.

I have had Coach-Net for the past 6 years. My bus turns 75 this year and have had no issues with them on the 3 times I have used them. I also have State Farm road side assistance for the bus but have not used it.

I tried to sign up today on their website. It did not have any of our brands: MCI, GM, etc. or model. It had other but finally threw up on the VIN. Mine is 1286 which catches up folks all the time. Left a message finally and no call back. Too busy or too rich I guess.

Coach-net has 'Other' as an option for Make and Model.  I left the VIN blank, I haven't had any issues doing that.

Coach-Net paid for a mobile mechanic when I lost a wheel bearing on my tag axle.  It was going to be a tow, but the tow company called and said they could send a mechanic instead if I could give them the part numbers for the bearing and seals.  I was near Evanston, Wyoming and the tow company sent a mechanic from their Coalville, Utah location.  The mechanic drove six hours round trip and the only part I had to pay for was his time onsite.

It turned out the spindle was melted so the mechanic chained up the tag axle and we drove the rest of the way home.  I was able to get one of those axle repair places to fix the spindle as the spindle is obsolete.

CoachNet is the premier service I have had it since 2000 and my price is not that bad but prices are steep for 1st time buyers now, they have a call center in Lake Havassu I did work for on the weekends and night for a couple of years till I ran out of patience with some RV owners,if Good Sams sticks with 35 mile limit it is not worth nothing it cost Tony and Pam 2000.00 to get towed home with GS

My understanding is the Coach-Net 40 year rule applies to other vehicles the subscriber owns, not the RV.  They don't want to be dealing with classic cars I guess.  It would pay to check if your bus is over 40 years old.

That rule doesn't apply to Rv's that I know of CoachNet started as FMCA associate back in the late 80's it may have changed I don't know the owner sold Coachnet to some outfit Dallas a few years ago

With coach net, I had to talk to customer service to get signed up as my 40 year Prevost doesn't have a VIN number. Couldn't get the web site to handle my signup info.

Sounds like you need to set it up with a person if that's even possible any more... Geeez
