In looking at properties for our future re-location, bus parking is one factor and came across this as one interesting option for consideration instead of buying a home and adding a separate building to house the coach in.

Interesting. are you staying in the southwest, AZ area, for sure lower cost and less hassle there than trying that in CA or some other dem-lib states?

Certainly an acceptable option provided you are OK with the appearance of your house. And you have guest quarters in the bus if needed. (Inside hookups of course)

It does not leave a lot of room for work space. Might want to go wider to get that. Also the interior layout could probably be improved, and an awning and pad down the side would be a big plus.

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

Build a large pole style building and after build your living quarters inside it out of sight of local code people.

Lokking for a 3+ bedroom home, this kinda makes sense as there is no limit to the size that can be built. Curb appeal I consider a city/suberb thang, we are looking at rural living with livestock and tillable land. This just seems a viable option to the 100+ year old Farm house ;)

Now this is redneck but was toying with idea of getting a farm with a huge old barn but in decent shape and like previously mentioned, pull the bus inside, plenty of room for workshop, and even pull in a trailer or build a small living area, all under the same roof. I'd be newly alone but interesting idea anyway.

120.00 a sq/ft is pretty hefty Van Man. You coud build a shell or even have it built a lot cheaper. There are companies that will make you up metal buildings and give you the plan for where to put the post connections in the slab. You pour or have the pad poured then set up the shell and go from there. You can even do wood ones. Iowa or MO. We looked at those when we were out that way a few years ago but decided that to many ticks, tornadoes and floods for those. :)

Van the Amish have been building these like CRAZY down here in TN and I have seen some much better set ups/lay outs for space. Not to mention 50X50 is on the small size.
And wrap around porches on 2, 3, & even 4 sides are becoming quite popular!
Come on by I'll take you and show you some of the ones I have watched being built!

I bought a place in Marshing Id about 20 years ago that was 60x60 where I parked 4 buses for while, the building was tall enough the complete up stairs was living quarters with a elevator  lower level was a shop I wish I would have kept that place.Like DaveC said $120.00 is a little steep for a metal building conversion,I am going to be into my building with Insulation,2 -16x12 doors sky lights.concrete and one entrance for $18.00 a square ft the plumbing and electrical is going to cost around 5k lol Gary Hatt is low bidder on the electrical he just doesn't know it yet

Maybe Matt will post a picture or two of the place he had in Yuma....there were quite a few of those down there, different sizes, different setups.

In 2000 I built my bachelor pad dream home. 40x 104 pole barn with three 14 x14 doors. Eave height was 16 ft. I built a 23x43 home within the pole barn. Two bedrooms, bath , kitchen and living room up stairs. Below the house was a three car garage with utility room with washer dryer and additional bath. I even had a fireman's pole off the deck to the second floor. Building was on 15 acres back a 1000 ft lane and walking distance to a bar. Had about 65k in it not counting land. Got married in 2005 and rented out house portion and kept rest for storage. Sold it last Dec. Built my present shop (40x 64) in 2018. 16 ft eave with 14 ft tall doors also.
When I got the loan for my first barn I had to take a loan to build a shop because no one would approve a barn home. The banker seemed a little pissy when they did my final inspection.
