I have a MC9 8V71 non turbo and want to replace all my coolant hoses/clamps and there are quite a few different sizes to order, can someone advise how much length and sizes for everything?

Thanks!

You can determine that by removing all that you intend to replace,, and use them for the length and diameter,, and number that you need.. including the clamps..>>>Dan

Well I wanted the new ones on hand and ready before I take the old ones off.  :^

Label each hose and where they go. Then take pictures so you don't have to try to remember, that's what I did because I knew I would not remember. Good luck

I don't have time to measure for you right now but you need  2-3/4, 2-1/2,2-1/4, and 1-3/4 plus the 1 inch heater hose

You could just buy a 3 foot long stick of each size and cut off what you need.

I read on F/B where he was wanting to go the silicone hose and clamps route that would get exspensive in a hurry,I told him Green Stripe Gates would last 25 years.I noticed all the new Petes at Boise Peterbuilt had the Gates Green Stripe hoses ?

We'd been using green stripe Gates hoses forever & love them. When doing our rebuild after almost 40 years the hoses looked as old as everything else until we wiped the hoses down with a gasoline soaked rag - they looked like new with no checking or cracks.  :^

Forget those silicone hoses. More leaking issues than they're worth. A two cycle Detroit won't outlast the hose. Green stripe is a better and excellent choice. And more economical.

when using the silicon hoses and even GS wipe the end of the castings and pipes with a thin layer of heatresistant silicon. Let it dry overnight and then put on the hoses and clamps. It tells in the manual to do this and I don't get leaks. Wish that would work with oil, LOL :)

Thanks everyone for the replies and 'luvrbus' for the diameter specs, that's what I was needing the most. I will check the Green stripe option too, honestly if one of y'all mentioned that earlier I forgot....squirrel.
