Drove by that one last year, did a driver switch in Florence, pony express to somewhere... it looked like it "belongs" there for some time?

Yeah it belongs to the local dive shop which now appears to be closed (may have been closed for several years now) and so far as I can tell hasn't been moved in a decade. I live about 3 miles from there on the other side of the freeway.

@Gary - yes, indeed, riding bike to the Chevron "supermarket". Brought up bus to ranch on the Klamath until the fall.


The bus is visible in the image, look at attached pointer. May risk another look to get more details but the junkyard German Shepard and his crazy German sidekick makes me think twice.

It's definitely a GM. Lights, bumpers, and 6 lug wheels just like the Belgua Bus. Flxibles came with 10 lug wheels and  new look windsheilds. Looks like the front windshields have been replaced and does not match the GM or Flxible. The PD2903 was DD powered, 400 were produced between 46 and 49. The PG2904 was Buick powered, 200 were produced between 46 and 48.
A bit of info, the Belgua Bus is a PG2904 but was converted to a DD 4-71, its production number is 066 and was delivered to the Utah Parks Company in 12/46. The Utah Parks Company was owned by the Union Pacific RailRoad and shuttled tourist between the railroad station in Cedar City UT to Zion and Bryce NP. Also the GMC label was not used until sometime in the 80's, before that all busses are GM.

No Dave, that was when i took it about 9 miles out into the desert 2 times near Yucca Az.  One hour each way on a washboard road. That taught me to stay on pavement.
