I know it is coming more bio in fuel there nothing I can do but I don't like the bio fuel ,the newer AquaHot's are adjusting to the stuff and so is Kubota on generators,my engine is a 5% bio fuel and I try to keep that way no more than 5% so I pay a little more which I don't mind.AT 65 ft in length towing truck stops are easier but they are always so nasty and diesel fuel with white carpet is a no no

I've used the TSD card a good bit.
My discount ran about 50-60 cents per gallon going to AZ.
Much better discounts on the return trip this spring.
Our local Loves discount here in Sioux Falls, SD runs about $1.15 per gallon.
I've been paying $1.71 per gallon after the TSD discount.
Nothing to sneeze at when you're buying over 100 gallons!
My new Silverado runs $15-20 to fill up.
I can handle that better than the previous pickup that used gas.

I have only used my fuel card one time, now I have a full tank and no place to go.  There is a Loves about 2miles from where I live so that is where I went.  This was on March 14 now it would be less.  Put in 148.061 gallons and the pump price was $2.649, pump showed $392.21 when payment came out of my account it was $298.24.  I have shopped for fuel a lot over the years to save a little, but now I will use the fuel card not even look anymore.

Does the TDS card offer a way to know the discounted price before pumping?  I would hate to find the discount is almost nothing after buying and I could have saved money by going some place besides Loves or other chain truck stop.

This is what is says on their website:

How do I know how much savings I received if it does not show at the pump? Answer: You have multiple ways to know how much per gallon you are paying. You can receive an email each day with the price per gallon you will pay at each location. You can download the EFS Card Control App which will send you a receipt after you fuel with the correct amount. You will also receive a statement the next business day after you fuel that will show your gallons purchased, the discount, our fee and the amount that will be drafted from your account.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

My experience from a week ago is the phone app provides the discounted price. However, the site states that pricing for Oregon is not correct and I can attest to that.

The app showed diesel was $1.07 at the Petro in Medford, Oregon. The retail sign showed $2.62. Kinda mumbled to myself, "Too good to be true", then proceeded to follow the multi-screen steps to get logged and pumping. Put in 105 gallons and pump said $276 but as clearly stated the net price does not show at the pump.

Got an email receipt and was kind of annoyed that app price was indeed "too good to be true". Got sort of worked up then mumbled "don't kick the gift horse in the teeth" then remembered last 100 gallons was about $309. Getting 50% off - believer for sure!

TSD has a web page with the daily/weekly negotiated rates for nearly all the stations in their network. You'll need to contact them for a password. It's the best way I've found to get the accurate pricing.

You can also use the EFS app which will show the negotiated price before you pump.

@Belfert First, good to see you on here.  I show the TA in Rogers, MN as $1.514 , retail is $1.99 .

In early March we put on 3100 miles, I fueled up many times under $1.50/g and that was back when retail was $2.70 -2.50/g .  I budgeted $1200 for fuel, we were under $1000.   I did a route search and a run to Dallas, TX will see you finding fuel for $1.21/g .  I feel like we're in a time capsule to fuel prices I saw as a kid.

I've used the TSD card for over a year now and since we drive around 15,000 miles a year in our bus, we use it a lot. Always given me a great discount at Loves. Super easy to use once you connect it to your loves app. Awesome way to fill up at a truck stop. And when you're filling up as often as I do (in the fall, I do most of my driving) you get tired of unhooking toad, trying to squeeze into a pump, blocking traffic for 20 minutes while the pump slooooowly fills my bus, pulling out and driving to a spot to rehook toad. Yeah I'll stick to filling up at truck stops thank you.

I am thinking about applying.  It looks really good.  A question:  Is it even cheaper to plan your fuel stop in states with lower gas taxes?  Obviously state gas taxes are less in New Mexico compared to California.  I carry 250 gallons and go a loooong way before I fuel.  I just wonder how much difference it would make, or if it is worth considering such planning.

David, you do both.

Use the card and buy fuel in the lower tax jurisdictions.

Double the fun, double the savings.

Happy coaching!

TSD sent an update saying they have made arrangements with PETRO that likely will offer the deepest discounts. They are also trying to bring on some smaller fuel suppliers to broaden the choice of stations.
