I guess now I’m a bus collector

I'm collecting classic cars since high school. So I'm not too scared of anything need repairs. I stumbled upon a 4104 a few years ago near Denver. It was in pretty bad shape, but I immediately fall in love with it. Made it livable and it served as my second home for a while. Just recently I rescued an other one (from Denver) so now I have my own fleet of 4104s....So I guess now I become a bus collector.

I am new here, live in Boulder City NV. Just wanted to say hi, and appreciate the previous posts from people repairing these engineering marvels. Every time I needed guidance fixing something this forum came up....

I've sent Jon an email with all the details of my buses. I've found my bus#2 on the 4104 list what was a recent entry. But bus#1 wasn't on the list (yet). The guy I bought it from owned it since 1973....

My reply went to your other post so I'll duplicate it here.

I hate oil leaks. I bought a Studebaker in Seattle and drove it to La. It used 4 cases of oil (and two front tires) on the trip. Long story short, the cork front crankshaft seal was completely missing and the king pins were shot. I patched up the seal, put a couple of skins up front and traded it for an old Terry travel trailer--I think we both got beat up pretty bad.

My advice? buy another bus and hope it doesn't leak and memorize Brad Paisley's lyrics--there is no cure for the bus disease. Jack

Wasn't there another song about how the wife left with the dog, and the poor guy lamented about how he missed the dog. Anyway, you need to drop hints about how other buses have more headroom or more storage space, more width, etc, and about how it is hard to find parts so it is wise to have spare buses in case the price of parts goes up. Why, my wife was concerned about our son-in-law being too tall for our Model 10, so I solved the problem with a raised Model 15. Thanks honey for the great idea, I would not have thought of it.
