I am now using YouTube tv at my house.  It costs 50 dollars per month and has almost all my past stations with direct tv.  The only station it dosen't have that my daughters and wife like is hallmark channel.  However, you can purchase the hallmark channel or any other for 5 extra bucks a month.  So what I am going to do is purchase the hallmark channel for the 3 months around Christmas because my girls like to watch all the Christmas movies on that channel.  The nice thing is you can add or delete shows as you want at any time.

It allows you to have three devices on at the same time and it includes all your local stations, so when you are out of town you still get your local programs.  another great feature that I like is you can organize your home screen with all your favorite stations that come up first and the ones you never watch at the bottom of the menu.  That way you can navigate much easier.  Also, all the DVR is over the cloud so you don't have to worry about space on the drive because it's all cloud based.  It really is quite nice.  We got rid of our cable which was something like 120+ per month.  I figure we are saving over 800 for the year.

I discovered a major problem with my Rocu plan.  I wanted to use a Verizon Jet Pac for internet with Hulu/Rocu.  You have to pay for Hulu but it is the only channel that carries Fox News and a lot of good programming.

But Hulu won't let you use a mobile Jet Pack!  It has to be a home based internet service that can't be moved.  That shoots down my attempt to save money by combining devices for bus and home.  I have direct TV which is a rip off but I like the channels.  Back to the drawing board...

You can get Hallmark direct from them also. I saw an ad for it. Forget having Hallmark for just the holidays, as I doubt that will fly with the wife and maybe daughters. It is ladies NFL. My wife and many ladies she knows watch it a lot all year around.

Amen to that.  Hallmark and Lifetime for women is like cat nip.  It's irresistible!!
