I am not sure if it is because of the application (Bureau of Prisons) that my 6v-92 is not equipped with a positive air shut off or not. I have not previously thought of it before but went to service/check the shut off and found none. It never even dawned on me that there was no control in the switch cluster.

I would like to know if there are any others that run the 6v92 that Do NOT have a positive air shut off equipped engine.

Are you referring to the Emergency stop flapper or a small solenoid on the governor housing to activate the fuel shut down lever. Turbo engines don't have an Emergency shut down flapper and judging by the year of your bus is it electronic? If it is no solenoid on the governor as well.

Seldom do you come across the 92 series with the spring loaded fuel tubes with a positive air shut down on highway engines, they are common on the off road 92 engines, geneartors  with the 92 series most have one even equipped with the spring loaded fuel tubes

So runaways were a thing of the past on these engines? So there is good fuel control but what about a hole in a piston or shaft seal failure on the turbo? What if anything controls/stops a runaway on the 92 road engines?

It never was Detroits intention to stop a runaway engine from other than a stuck injector with their emergency shut off design,if a 6v92 turns fast enough the blower will come apart and lock it down  8) lol just ask the guys that had no idea on how to adjust the buffer.fast idle or Jake buffer switch. The shut down used on off road engines are a little different than the old flapper

Took me a while to find this again, a CO2 fire extinguisher will safely shutdown a runaway engine.  Watch this demonstration .
