That brings up a good question.  With inflation, what is $280 in todays money?  I've got a lot of parts and know what they were worth 15-20 years ago when I got them.

Geoff

Where have you been Geoff there is no inflation the government says there is none so it has to be true  :-*

I know Detroit 2-stroke parts are 10x what they used to be because of low volume sales.

It's not necessarily low volume. Other mfgs. take over existing companies and jack up prices because they are exclusive supplier. Look at Onan.

Maybe China can buy the molds and start making all the old Detroit Diesel parts.  After all, they're still popular where there's no EPA.  The Chinese Clones are already taking over the world.

I can buy Isuzu heavy truck parts.

Cliff, the last time I looked, the market basket of goods that the government uses to determine inflation, didn't have any Detroit Diesel parts.👻
