I just removed the old AC stuff from the bay on the driver's side where the genset will be installed.  I notice another coil condenser or something behind the panel where the fans are for the duct work.  Is this also part of the old AC system and needs to be removed?

Bus is a MCI 102A3  1987.

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny,

Are you talking about behind the twin blower in the forware compartment?

Or behind the condencer coil?

Behind the twin blower are 2 coils, 1 is the A/C evaporator coil, and the other is the heat coil.

Let us know!

That is a good question - I will have to look further.

That was a little access panel from the main compartment.  I could see another coil.  Let me look tomorrow and get back to you.

Thanks,

Danny,

That little access panel I think you are talking about is on the back wall of the condencer compartment. That coil behind there is the blower compartment

which has the both coils in there. Did you see a spider web of small copper tubes behind there too? thats the evaporator coil which is behind the heat coil.

You don't have to remove the evap coil if you choose not to!

If you are not going to keep the original bus heating system then those two coils and the fan can go as well and there will be some extra space available. However, you will probably need to keep the water circuit at least partly operational to supply the drivers windscreen defrost and heater
