The bumper extensions on my 4108 are connected to the body with 5/16-18 x 3/4 ribbed neck carriage bolts. They are chrome plated.

Anyone know of a source for replacements? I've searched online and so far have only found zinc plated. Can't even find stainless, let alone chrome.

If all else fails I can sand down the rust on the ones on there now and paint them, but it would be nice to get some new bolts.

Dunno anything about them - 1st hit I got on Google using "rib neck carriage bolts stainless"

(on edit) Sorry - didn't notice that they were carton quantities only.  Its unlikely you need 350 fasteners.  They are however clearly available.

I went around this about three months ago. Checked with Luke, no joy. Bumper uses same style. Any place that listed something was done large quantities of way too long. I purchased 5/16x18 as carriage bolts for side bumpers and 1/2x1 1/2 coarse ss carriage bolts from McMasterCarr. I can file the holes square and don't have to beat on volt head to get spines to cut and reseat. If I had a buffing wheel setup, I would polish the stainless to a chrome like finish. This may still happen; just haven't gotten back to it. I also bought new double stud rubber bumpers to remount bumperettes.
This is because I had front bumpers polished to a near chrome finish by the place that did my wheels.

Maybe I should just polish the ones I have to remove the rust, and then spray them with the silver paint I used to refinish the headlight surrounds.
