I have a 1979 MCI MC8 and the blinkers don't want to work. When i get into the electrical box I can hear that they are trying to work. Does anyone know what might be happening? or has this happened to them?

Thanks

Hello and welcome!

The turn signal switch is behind the steering column. Make sure it is sound and connected.
You should have a 10 amp breaker for the turn lamps in the front junction box at#45 on the breaker bar. Check to see if it's getting enough power or if there is a intermittent ground issue. Also, front studs 6-9 house the wires for those circuits in the front junction box...you might want to check those also.

EDIT: I forgot the relay in the bottom left side of the front box. It's just beneath the three breakers to the left of the terminal board. Check that as well...first in fact.

Do you have the Maintenance Manual for your coach?

There is another electric box in the driver-side rear engine area. I was just checking that a couple days ago while checking turn signal operation. There are relays in there that make clicking sounds. If you hear them you at least know there is power to the back end of the bus. And there is the turn indicator sound you hear from the driver seat.

Be sure to double check every ground connection, including each of the lights involved in the turn signals. It only takes one bad lamp or ground connection to take down the whole system.
