Was reading my MCI manual this morning (like I don't have enough other stuff to do) and noticed that some coaches were equipped with a thermal drain valve that automatically opened and drained the freshwater tank when the temperature reached  34°F. How cool is that? Someone should incorporate this into their freshwater system on their coaches.

That would work on coach factory bathrooms as they were designed to drain all water. However that setup wouldn't take care of the water lines and traps in our conversions.

True, unless someone designed theirs so gravity would drain everything :)

It would be impossible to drain the water heater so I am not sure it would really be a viable option.  Also, I have taken my bus in much colder temps than 34 degrees and never had anything freeze, but you do have to be careful and your bus has to be designed for 4 seasons to be successful.
