I was wondering if anyone ever found there paws broken in their slack adjuster & what would cause them to brake, except for trying to back them off with out pulling the pin.

Hi Pete,

I can only imagine that the paws can only get damaged from the shoes wearing too thin causing the slack adjusters

to move excessively. ?? can someone chime in here?

  HI NICK
No the shoes are in good shape, we went to adjust the brakes and had trouble pulling pin so removed pin and  found out it was broken, replaced broken pin and adjusted all right. Just was wonder if anyone ever had this happen. we are going to remove the others to be safe and replace them all. when it quits raining.

Pete, I think you are right, the only way they will brake is if someone did not pull them out when adjusting the slack. The thickness of the lining will not cause that to happen
