So have you made a decision about reinstalling tapatalk? Or is it still up in the air? I really hope it comes back.

Did you post from a phone or a lap top

I posted from my phone using a web browser but I really prefer tapatalk on the phone, it is much better for a small mobile screen, and there are several other forums that I frequent thru tapatalk.
Some are called, some are sent, some just got up and went.

We are considering all of that stuff and even more, but have put further enhancements on hold for the time being.  Further announcements will be coming soon.

The SMF folks seem to have more concern. Who knows?

As I understand it, the main problem with Tapatalk is that it replaces some SMF core files with it's own versions.  This is a violation of coding guidelines, and, among other problems, has allowed bots/spammers to bypass registration security.   Several forums have reported bots registering even with registration disabled.  This forum has a lot of bot traffic, it could be a serious problem here.  The replaced core files can also interfere with future upgrades, most of which contain security patches.  Because the files are not core code, patches may not be applied correctly, further compromising security.

What about the "ignore" button?

Members can be added to your ignore list in Profile -> Modify Profile -> Buddies/Ignore List.  There was a 1.1 mod that added an ignore button to posts, but I don't find one that will work in 2.0.

Great job Gary and Phil, your work to improve the site and even to keep it going, is appreciated. I read your forum everyday and have lots of information stored, on how to fix and understand problems, tom...

Hey Gary Can you put some kind of Button for ordering a Beverage and a Sandwich from the board.

Sometimes I am afraid to leave a post and make lunch in so much as I might miss something like I.E.what type of oil to use in my 2 stroke or how long it is until I should change my 21 year old bus tires that dammed if they don't still have tread on 3 of them.

Just wandering Thanks Man ;)

Nice work. I know how much time and effort goes into running a board. I am an admin on a race club forum and the headaches we went thru switching entire boards was just a nightmare.

One request I have is to activate a "like" button that is embedded in each post. It would involve a mod as SM does not have it in the core code. I know if SM has as many updates as Invision Power Systems (our board) then it would just be a royal PITA dealing with updating mods that don't work with a core update or security patch.

It is a nice feature IMHO.Our like button also has a drop down with additional buttons of "Thanks" "HaHa" "Confused" and "Sad". The system notifies the original poster that what they post is regarded highly enough for someone to send a little notice by a simple click.

Here is a link to the SM "like" mod if you wish to investigate.

If not ... hey totally understand. Life gets busy enough sometimes as it is.
