Hi, im a newbie to mci did own a 4104 for about a year sold it when i ran into a better deal  for a mci ready to go..
my question is can anyone tell me where the transmission I.D. tag is ? its an automatic 4 spd. ?????? would like to figure out was told allison something lol....
which one is in my bus ..also can you tell what equipment by vin # ? if so how do i do that ???? thank you for any help on this ......

The transmission tag is on the drivers side about the middle just above the oil pan,the vin number on the bus won't tell you much

most likely an Allison AT 740.

A 740 can be the same bride in different dresses they are not all HT (heavy truck) my favorite 740 is the FS 740 (fuel saver) the HD is used in off road equipment
