Greyhound stating closure in western Canada

On the news last night Greyhound has reported a discontinuance of all runs (sans 2) in western Canada. All operations from northwest Ontairio to BC will cease this fall. Personally I think it is the usual ploy to get more government funding but I guess time will tell.

I hope the government doesn't help them with tax payer's money. They are still operating with a 1970s model: making one money making run pay for the money loosing one. And they never modernized their courier system with a tracking system. Smaller, more nimble local companies can take some routes over and be profitable. There is already some interest.

Funny thing about Greyhound ,they seem to only want to provide bus service to places where it is really not needed!!
