"the guy" who said he could order from Mexico, was that someone at Michigan Truck Springs, or you were talking to Hayes/Lemmers?

luvrbus

That's ridiculous. a total replacement of studs on a coach with a tag would be over 1600 bucks? I used to use the example of replacing tires on a bus was not 500 bucks but 4000. Now I got a better one, replace wheel studs is $1600 ATM visit. lol

This all brings me back to my original question - does anyone have the specs or general part number for this stud?  I have a feeling I might be able to find them *not* through bus channels for cheaper.  But I don't know what the dimensions are.

take one off and measure it.

bet you a $ that you'll get 4 different answers if you get any.

if you measure you'll know.... if you don't, it will likely be wrong.

Here is the Euclid number you can get the dimensions from their site E-5922-L and E-5922-R or the Meritor number is ROO5922- R or L maybe Dorman makes the studs also

good luck and happy hunting

Thank you so much!

Are these for the steel wheels, or the longer studs for the aluminums?

luvrbus

That should be correct number but Find it Truck Parts sold me some for $6.40 ea for 10 in box with that number that were not correct they were for steel wheels 1-3/4 long so watch Find it Parts. The only difference is the std steel wheel stud is 1-3/4 on the wheel end (1-1/8th)and the longer studs are 2 inches on the 1-1/8th end lol I chased these things for months and still have 20 of the short 1-3/4 studs for 64 bucks for a box of 10 they were worth keeping

Did they have that number on the box, or did they just send you the wrong parts?

I'm confused - in the Euclid catalog, it shows it as 1-1/8", not 1-3/4"

And you're saying that these parts (E-5922-L/R) are for steel, and I need something with a longer wheel end?  But is that 2" then, or 1-3/8", which is 1/4" longer?

luvrbus

The 1-1/8 th is the nut size 2in is the thread length , also check out BWP-NSI numbers M-2444 and M-2449 or better call them @ 636-629-5800 they have them but you need to buy from a dealer I found the BWP_NSI after I bought mine

According to the Euclid catalog at:

http://truckhub.us/yahoo_site_admin/assets/docs/Euclid100DWheelAttachingPartsX-Ref.96161249.pdf

the 1-1/8th is actually the thread length (page 4-15)

I called BWP-NSI and the full length on those is only 3 5/8"?   Are the BWP parts for steel and the 4" is for aluminum?  I still haven't figured out what the aluminum length is.

luvrbus

I posted this for you on the MCI F/B page maybe someone there has a lead for the studs. It's going to be interesting when Luke restocks I bet his wholesale price has went through the roof too

Okay!  I just found a good source for the Euclid parts, but according to Cliff, the Euclid part number is for the steel wheels.  So I called Euclid, and they don't carry anything like the E-5922-L/R but with longer wheel threads, so now I'm back out of luck.

Does anyone have an industry part number for the studs for aluminums?
