So one of my first concerns is to make sure this thing is water tight.  I know I have a small tear in the top, its aluminum right?  I was just going to use a small piece of that Eternabond Roofing Tape for now.

But the windows seem to really need some help, I see several spots where 2-3inchs of caulking are gone entirely.  Do I need to pull the windows out to seal it or would it be faster/easier for the time being just to caulk the crap out of them for now and come back to do the permanent repairs later?

Can I get new OEM style seals or are there better options?

Anyone know a guide/video on removing and resealing these windows by chance?

Thanks!

So dont take the windows or the old sealant off and use the Quad max stuff?  Or clean what I can from the outside and re-seal with this stuff?

Are you are refering to the front window?

Personally I would replace the window seal. If no OEM seals are available there are many suppliers that can offer one that is a close match. Just GOOGLE to find.

There are two basic designs. A snap lock design is all one piece with no separate locking bead piping. The other has a separate piece of rubber piping that you have to install to "lock" the window in place.

Here is a couple of videos of the snap lock seal install

The other style is pretty much the same. You just have to work the V shaped lock bead into the groove in the window seal.

The front glass, although fogged, looks decent.  Its mostly the side windows that are the worst it appears.

I am not about punching rivets to get these windows out, I guess for now, more caulking.

If they are factory windows I don't believe the caulking is OEM. They would have had rubber seals.

If you are going to use caulking, you want it on the outside, not the inside. The water is coming in from the outside, and you want to stop it before it gets between the body and the glass. Once water gets into the cracks between the two, it will wick around until it finds a way in - and it will. Putting caulking on the inside is never as effective.

Thanks, was assuming that much.  :)

But honestly are there two sets of seals?  One for the frame of the window on the outside of the bus and another on the inside seal of the window to the frame?

Not sure how yours are specifically, but my GM windows have a seal where the main window frame meets the bus skin, and another where the glass is mounted to the tilt-out frame. My OEM slider windows have gaskets that hold the glass into the slider frames. Then there is the gasket between the outer slider frame and the bus.

Bottom line is you've probably got more than one gasket on each. This is partly why so many people pull out the factory windows and install Peninsula windows.

Talked to the Penisular guy today, $500ish a piece for the good replacements for the side windows.  Plus another $100 if they install the glass.

I think we will do this at some point but its 5-6k in total so I need to wait a few.
