Was seriously thinking about selling the bus and buying one of the gas pushers but according to the research I have done, these things don't get any better fuel millage than my 8V92.Guess the maintenance  would be quiet a bit less and gas is cheaper than diesel But I know that the 454 Vortec is not going to live as long as a diesel engine .They say that the over heating issues have been resolved but I don't really know what they did to do that .Don't get me wrong,I love buses and especially love mine but I simply don't drive it enough to justify owning it .It just seems a shame to let this BBB (big beautiful beast)set for forty five or forty six weeks out of the year and like a horse ,these things eat hay( money)
whether you use them or not

Financially speaking, if vacations are a scheduled thing, and using the RV is not a spontaneous exercise...

Renting is way cheaper than owning, if those services are available in your area.

Everyone likes to own their toys, but there's a steep price for the privilege?

Hi Bigred, gas goes bad in a short period of time, diesel doesn't, if you ever had to rebuild your motorcycle or boats carburetors, because of lack of use, that would be your answer, lvmci...

My bus doesn't cost much when it's sitting.  Just electric to keep the batteries up.  If you are paying storage that would be a factor.  Or are you making payments on the bus?  Whatever is eating hay, getting a smaller gas RV is also going to eat hay.  I absolutely love driving and using my bus, and a sticks and staples is no fun.

Maintenance is maintenance, whether the coach moves, or the coach sits.

Reliability only comes from maintance.

The savings of doing nothing to the coach while it sits get eaten up by the terrors of on road breakdowns.

It's all in how you like to get your stimulus?

Happy coaching!

Diesel can sit for years and still be good (with stablizer). I wouldn't have a gasoline engine if you paid me. Nothing more reliable than a mechanically operated Diesel. So much so both Caterpillar with it's 3406C and Cummins with it's N14 both still make mechanical versions for those that don't want electronics. Good Luck, TomC

I agree especially on the old Cummins engine. The old 8.3 that I had in the old Dream that the tree demolished was the sweetest engine I ever had an experience with! The day the
insurance company picked it up it was 17 degrees after a 9 degree night and it started. Not the usual 2 turn overs but it did start!!!
