You may be right. But I have learned from the past...

When I was 30, I had never ridden a motorcycle by 31, I had 7 in the garage and bought a motorcycle salvage yard.  Still ride not as much as I use to, body can not take it any more

Engines, go to Detriot Diesel. Transmissions to Allison. Or, if you are very lucky, find a bus garage that will work with you.
Mainly, come here before you go anywhere else.
I've been lurking here and soaking up great information before I also take the plunge.
Is there a bus make that you and others would recommend (MCI, Eagle, VanHool, Prevost, etc) for a bus that is 10-15 years old?
I have my eye on one with a DD 8V92.  How many miles typically before I will need a rebuild (it has not had one yet)?

You want to buy a bus and have it inspected. I strongly suggest you wait 60 days and then visit Oregon for the Busnut Rally. Many buses are for sale and you will not find a more experienced group of experts to look over the bus and let you know their thoughts.  I heard there were over 300 buses last year! I can't wait to take my baby. You can see all sorts of in progress works of the heart, million dollar buses and everything in between.

Seems like a wise investment to go see, sniff, scratch, listen and learn. Then with a good education spend your hard earned money the best way you can.

Good luck and welcome!
