Certainly interesting. A modern powertrain would work I would think.

The tractor is the most stylish part, definitely snappy! I wonder what transmission it has. I had a 1955 REO truck that had a five speed with a two-speed axle.

This rig has been stored under the parking structure at the Peterson Auto Museum in Los Angeles for years. It is in great shape. Needs upgraded tires, and upgraded engine/transmission. Certainly would get lots of attention wherever you went. Buy for $75k and probably dump another $100k into it-but still "cheap" considering a Mercedes class C is $120-$150k. Good Luck, TomC

Yes,  just like looking at old cars.  Cool to look at but not worth the money and labor to upgrade.

And anything that has any value loses most of it's value when it's upgraded.  I knew a mechanic at a Mercedes dealership in the DC area who had a "gullwing" from the 60s that he bought with a blown engine - he replaced it with a 300 D diesel engine.  It was a marvelous car but it gave the purists heart palpitations.

That's what happens when you truly have something unique and one of a kind. Still a deal at $137k. Good Luck, TomC

There is quite a story behind that rig, its not a RV or camper, I believe it was designed for touring, I've read the story and can't find it now, its currently powered by a pancake supercharged Cummins 320.
It was at the Murphy Museum in Oxnard for a while and I went thru it, for the time period it was nicely appointed, I wouldn't want to modernize it, other than what it needs to put it back into shape, it does need a bit of work.
Now I see part of the story on e bay.

Wow, so when my Eagle is 81 years old I will finally get all my money back. ;D
I always wanted to convince myself I made a good investment ::)

If it is the only one that lasted that long . . . . . may be worth a bit - IF you can find 2 or more people that really, really want it . . . .
