Well with the help of some fellow bus nuts, a rented tranny jack and digging a big hole under the coach to change trannies Dave is almost on the road again. New tranny is in place and needs to have some hook ups finished and he should be mobile again tomorrow.
Dave wanted to thank anyone that called and those that showed up thanks guys.

Well I let Dave have my transmission on a hand shake and a promise that he would settle up when he got home. That was over a month ago. No phone call, Email nothing. I sent him an Email a week or so back, no response. It's really sad when things like this happen because it really dose affect to what degree a guy will help the next person in need of some help.

Feeling used, Duane

Duane;
Don't feel bad, you said you let "Dave have the trans on a handshake
and he would settle up when he gets home"  This update states
Dave is not home yet and is almost on the road again. (perhaps
tomarrow)  I would recommend a little more patience.  Would like
to see a happy ending to this saga. Keep us posted.

                               Thanks,   Merle.

I don't have a horse in this race, but, the original post was on the 28th of April.  Duane's reply was yesterday.  That is a week later.  If Dave is  home again he needs to contact Duane and make some arrangements.  If he is not, it would still be considerate to get in touch with him and let him know his status.  I understand when you are broken down on the side of the road (whether figuratively or literally) your attention is geared towards becoming mobile again.  At some point though is a two minute phone call to someone who has helped you an unreasonable request?

We are not there and can armchair quarterback all day.  Our view on this situation is worth so many 1's and 0's.  From a current busnot, to those that have helped, thank you! Once again I am amazed at the generosity of the members of this board.

My 2 cents,

Frank

Duane,

Hang in there Pal!

Lets hope its just a communication problem for now!

I think its a good thing that you posted your frustration here though.

We all have reached our hands out to help others and IF someones abuses that, WE need to know.

I do agree with SlowRider "At some point though is a two minute phone call to someone who has helped you an unreasonable request?"

Let us know the outcome of all this, hopefully good!

I've spent some time around people that have no conception of time. I find them very frustrating, they dont understand me at all!!  He may be the type of person that will go some place and stay for 2 months on the way home and then take care of it when he "gets home". He will then not be able to understand why you are so upset and wonder what is wrong with you!!
He could also be in an intensive care unit someplace or even a morgue. I hope this is not the case. But you did what you thought was the right . I have found that anything I give out comes back to me many times over but not always the way I planed. At any rate let us know what happens.

I suspect he is not home yet. At least I hope that is the reason you have not heard from him.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride

DuaneMC7

I received confirmation from Tin Lizzy that he made it home just a few days after I gave him the trans. So he has been home for over a month. And he has not responded to my Email, this is why I have posted my frustration. ???

Not that it really matters, Duane

Well that certainly puts a different light on the whole matter. Thanks for the update.
We will keep an eye out for ole Dave!!
