80mph in a 70 isn't ok.

Scott -

Especially on tires rated for just 75 mph!

Eric -

Something is not right if your coach won't climb a 2x4 on its side.  As Chessie mentioned, change the fuel filters, and while you're at it, check the air filter, too.  The other thing is the 4" exhaust downstream of the turbo is literally choking off the boost, so that needs attention - it should be 5" at least.  (Are you sure it's got a turbocharger on it?  Not a lot of LH 8V71Ts out there. Or could it be a 6V92T? Just curious. . .)

Weight seems a bit much for a 4107 shell, it should be closer to 22-23K empty.  32K is your GVW, btw - 12K front, 20K rear.

You don't say where in WY the coach is right now, but there are some busnuts in the area if you needed help.  PM me for contact info.

I'm typing on a phone so forgive me....
The filters have been upgraded to spin on. I drove it home about 100 miles when I bought it a few years back and have worked out some bugs since then. It was plugging up fuel filters every 50 miles. I had two sets with me, I would stop and "wash" them out and kept running until I got home. I since drained and rinsed the tank out with diesel, I also have run howes treatment and eco-clean as we have had agree grow in some of our equipment up here. l I checked fuel pressure and it was good 60+ psi. I have an extra set of filters with it. It is for sure a 8v71 with a turbo. They said it was from a 77 transit and he had one on his property.  The exhaust is quite chocked down, I can hear the turbo spin up quite a bit when driving and rev ing up. I pulled the intake hose off and the turbo looks and feels good.  It also had an upgraded dry paper air filter with a bunch of nuts on it. I have not taken it out to check, I should do that. It doesn't smoke other than a white puff when it starts, a bit of blow by but not bad. Doesn't use hardly any oil, very few leaks. I'll carry extra fluids with me. Unfortunately conditions were not ideal and I had to pack all our stuff in it and park it in a garage storage unit. We will be back to get it in a month or two and jump in and drive....
Oh and yes I weighed it on the port truck scales and I'm 10300 lbs front axle and  19640 on the rear. Heavy! It's basically a u haul right now!
Thank you all for your input! Keep it coming 😀

Don't want to hijack this thread...do you have a another thread somewhere about the cruise install? It's on my wish list for spring.

Richard
Nope, it came with good instructions.

The C-60 injectors are not a turbo injector and 5 in exhaust is better but it dosen't choke one down enough you tell except for the water temp there several 8v92 around in buses running 4 inch exhaust for clearance reasons .
Change the filter, check the fuel pressure ,all the linkage including the shut down.  if that all checks out have someone set the air gap on the governor and be sure you don't have a throttle delay or fuel modulator on the engine that is out of adjustment if equipped.
If your engine has been A timed with C-60 injectors it is going to be gutless

When you get time, there is a procedure in the DDA manual to determine whether engine has standard or advanced timing. Majority if not all of them are standard timing with turbos. May need a DDA to check this if you haven't worked on them yourself. Even if it is set in advanced timing, instead of tearing apart engine to correct, there are injectors that can deal with this.

How and where is the turbo mounted? Somewhat tight spaces with the 8vs. Would like to see picture of the general mounting, if/ when you have time. Would like to add one to ours, along with the internal upgrades.
