I wanted to start a topic in order to find people or merely "someone" close to me with a similar project to discuss ideas and maybe trade advice "in person" or just for shits and giggles

I probably wouldn't be much good at advice b/c I'm still very much a newb learning but we have almost the same bus.  I've been trying to find a rally near me in order to network and learn more but haven't been to one yet.  I will have my bus for 2 yrs in March.

You really should subscribe to Bus Conversion Magazine.  There you will get tons of ideas of what other people have done.  Each month we feature a bus conversion to ponder over to see how other people have converted their buses.  The magazine is what help support the Forum as well.  :)

       Just curious, what kind of fuel leak do you have?  Is it the
       tank it self or do you have the Aux tank leaking?

Jay, I am not exactly right around the corner but about 25 miles from Cincinnati. We're located a few miles north of Mount Orab. Have an 84 mci 9 for 4 years and a 96a3 prior. Would be glad to trade ideas and meet up sometime.

I'm North of you a bit, in the Dayton area. I have Eagles, but these buses share many parts like the engines & trans. Do you have the 8V71 with the Spicer 4 speed manual, or Allison auto? You will find much information in the archives of this board and in the Bus Conversion magazine. In past decades there were Bus Conversion Conventions held mostly out west, but they have died off. There are still rally's being held that allow you to see what others have done. To get the quickest answer about a problem you might come across, just post on this board, you will find that help will pop up from other MCI owners.

Jeez, well my point was to collaborate not only myself but others. Regardless, I surely appreciate the responses!

I just pulled my tank yesterday, the pick-up tube was clogged so I was cutting out on the hills and eventually it would run longer than 5 min or until the line had no vacuum left. I plan to possibly pull the aux tank as well, give them both a good cleaning and install a new pickup tube! Suggestions welcome.

We have land in Peebles we visit and camp often, a pit stop in Mt. Orab would be an easy choice to discuss bus topics and meet similar minds! I'll contact when shes back together.

Double Eagle,
I have an 8V92 Ta, I think its the HT740, but I haven't checked. Original greyhound transit, upgraded in 84' to a conversion professionally by MCI, so it has great good guts!
Dayton is a stones throw, I'm in West Chester. I take flight lessons up there at Wright. I would gladly drive er' up next time and we could shoot the chit!

 :-[I been a lurker on here for longer than I can remember,  not that I'm  full of knowledge but I have learned more off this site than any school could teach me,  I bought my 1st coach in 1993 it was a 1978 MCI5C , 6/92 turbo with the 740 Allison,  It had a John Starr paint job &  looked almost  the same as JC'S bus on the outside, it was our pride & joy then we got the idea that we should have a 40 footer.  Found a 1996 Prevost XL with series 60 Detroit  & the love affair started all over again that was in yr 2000 now 18 yrs later & 100,000 miles later is is still my 1st thought when I wake up in the morning.  It is a Bill Kingston conversion could not be more satisfied.    Now back to the subject of story,  My hometown where I made a living was Republic, Washington, retired in 1993, & been a snow bird every year since, spend about 4 months in Republic in summer & 7 to 8 months in the foothills of Yuma Az.  its been great

CCO - Converted Coach Owners, been around almost forever.
