What can I use my Nexiq for?

So my Nexiq USB Link 2 arrives in a few days. I was on their website a bit. What all can I do with this? Obviously I can read and clear codes on my DDEC II 8v92. Can this thing read codes on my ODB II Toyota SUV? Can it read codes on my ATEC Allison Trans?

It may depend on which nexiq you have.   I have the Snap-on branded prolink iq and it has a cable and software for OBD2.  Need to buy the Detroit, and maybe Allison, software eventually.

It won't read your 700 series Allison it will show it through the engine connection though

Got it, ok. I'm not sure of the software yet. Going to be working with Ken Arnold on that end of things. This is the unit I purchased. It's a genuine US made unit not a Chinese knockoff. Made sure of that with the seller, plus I spent a week studying up on how to tell the difference between a genuine Nexiq product and a Chinese knockoff. Anyway this one is the real deal.

It is best to have a laptop or tablet dedicated just for the software with nothing else on it, it's just a interface link between the engine and the computer so you are going to need a laptop,tablet or a real smart phone  
The problem I hear about the LINK 2 is it won't read all the older software without the extra $250.00 cable since Nexiq starting installing a chip in the cable to stop the aftermarket suppliers. If you need help the Azdieselman here on this board (Kevin) teaches classes all over the US on how use that stuff lol I need to attend one of his classes
