How old are the pictures? May have been taken right after paint job and conversion. Might have major rust issues besides. Just stand alongside on a quiet day and listen....

Rust and all the engine is install straight up not laying over and cross ways in a Eagle heck they even have a starter you can remove and replace in 20 minutes  8)

Cliff,if you can do it in 20 minutes ,that means I could probably do it in two days!!! LOL

I too know there is a depressed market in converted coaches. (I do believe it is recovered somewhat from a few years ago).

A deal is made in any market when a seller and a buyer agree on the value of something, not an amount uninvolved parties that in most cases have never seen the item think is appropriate.

I believe the last place to try sell a coach is on one of these boards where many folks have a "skewed" view for whatever reason of the value. Many of those are sheep baaing something they heard or read and have never owned a coach.

The age of the coach has less bearing than the maintenance history and "useful" upgrades.

A very nicely maintained coach with an engine/transmission/power steering upgrade in need of a $15K paint job is worth much more than a painted up 8V71 with a manual 4 speed, manual transmission and undersized brakes in my opinion.

I only regret that some of the coaches on the market today were not available when I bought mine. In "our" pre-internet days shells cost more than some beautiful for sale coaches now.

We operated in the abyss (for most of us). We learned through our wallets!

I was fortunate to meet folks like Dave Gregory of Southern Oregon Diesel, who spent a couple of hours of his precious time on the phone with a complete novice educating me, (I called him about another matter) He is the person that sold me on a conversion. He sent me (a complete stranger!) current copies of Bus Trader and Bus Conversion magazines. I remain indebted to him and Dennis and visit them whenever I am in Roseburg.

Gary Bennet of B&B Coach, (who educated me more in two days than any other I have met since in the entire time I have known them) even though he told me upfront that he had nothing at the time to sell me.

Dave Galey, (yes the author of the books).

George Green of Ramblin Fever Coach, (Who I bought mine from and was treated extremely well by).

Those are some of the Pioneers I was fortunate enough to meet and many I have met since that sincerely help everyone.

I love the above comment AK! Ok so the coach is in Kansas City. I'm trying to learn more about it but the owner is willing to let it go for whatever he can get for it. No ties whatsoever. Does not have a roof raise from what I was told.

Maybe a starter could be difficult for some... Cylinder heads,drop boxes, extra axle, bobbing, pull engine for clutch replacement, or automatic replacement. Belts and angle drives. Clifford, you just didn't work on e ough GM's to appreciate them.😘

No slides, & not being able to fully check out all the functions definitely push the price down.
The bad motor limits the number of potential buyers.
The cost of having it towed adds to the required 'investment'.

Not being able to borrow money to purchase it will also put a damper on things. . . .

Considering the above - I think the sales price + transporting it to the buyer's location will need to be under $8000.


All that said, I believe this would be an Awesome deal for someone wanting to get into a diesel pusher motorhome - provided they are well aware of the efforts and costs required to get it road ready.

Kyle, perfect! That's what we are looking for are some just friendly ballpark numbers. Really helps us at least have some sort of calibration on value

There is not enough information on the coach to price it the suspension could worth 8k or 1k,the engine may not be in bad shape when one freezes seldom does it hurt the block it just breaks the oil cooler outer shell

True, thanks for bringing that up.

I should have added "provided there are no other major issues found during inspection"

As good as the pictures look - if there are suspension issues, it may not be worth hauling to scrap. . . .  :'(
