RJ very nice write up ;D Great advice.

Paul if you go through the Red Woods there is a place on Hyw1 you can't miss it and it is a church camp but they let you stay there for $5.00 a night. You just put it in the box. Also if on I-5 at Lost hills go west on 46 1 mile and try Gabby's Mexican Food. Wonderful grub you can park the truck Bus whatever behind the place in the alley. Agree with RJ on the Costco fuel stop too because if you wait until you see the Farm fuel place right before you go up the hill into the Tehachapies they will charge you a very high price for fuel. Don't ask how I know :'(

Also for all who travel 99 there is a Denny's in Delano,CA where you can park in the street next to curb across from it with the trucks for free overnight.
In Boron,CA off 58 you can park behind the Gas station and Restaurant on the corner but be for-warned there is a train that comes through your bus every night there or at least we thought it was.
