The inside of the fuel filler door indicates that the tank should whistle while filling until a certain level is reached and then go silent. I've never heard a peep from mine.

Anyone know if it was common for the whistles to be removed? Maybe they just didn't last? Either way, I can't figure out which is the whistle from all the fittings on top of my tank. I've got a small plastic device hanging from a fuel line near the filler opening, but figured it was an air vent. Is that thing supposed to whistle?

Have you tried using the large high flow truck pump? Mine will not whistle using a standard vehicle pump, and it only whistles until it reaches about 90% full.

Always fill with the truck nozzle. Never heard as much as a peep.
