Ron....if that furnace duct is outside air coming in which is hotter than outside air via thru condenser. Then you have both heater and A/C cool air at the same time. Also you are pumping IN even more outside moisture in to cause even greater water dripping from evaporator then normally.

Yes...you will have cold air from evaporator but only in frontal area of A/C till it mix with even hotter still heated air. It will work harder & perhaps never  cold down enough or barely to shut off.
Check with infrared temp gun at both points....A/C lower inlet & upper outlet. Normal is in about 20°F difference...greater the better.

So if you want the driest and coldest and less energy wasted....connect the "furnace duct" to out side air.

Ha, Got one, use it to play Dr. Ron. When the bodies warm enough I make my move, when it's too cold I dispose of it  ;D I'm pulling the unit this weekend to make a pan for it then I'll test it. I hooked up a drain but it looked like I might have trouble with it so I'm gonna make a pan for it.
