MT 647 torque converter fell forward - bad?

When I was moving the transmission prior to installing it, the torque converter kind of fell forward a couple of inches out of the case.  I just put it back in, it rotated a bit and slipped it into place exactly as deep as it always had been.  Is this bad, have I damaged it?  How does this work, anyway?  How does the TC get filled with fluid?  Should I have filled it prior to installing in some way?  It ran on a dyno in the shop before I picked it up, the pan was drained.

If you didn't damage the front seal you are ok there is a pump behind the torque converter that supplies oil to the converter as long as the slots on the converter are in place it powers the pump no need to try and prime it

What are the odds I damaged the front seal, and what would I do to check or change it at this point?  If it's damaged I will get fluid out the bellhousing, yes?

Brian, not a Bus trans, but I had a Roadmaster with GM 700R4 auto trans and a leaking seal on the torque converter. We diagnosed it using infrared die and light. The symptoms were that it would leak oil out of the front bell housing and seep and leave a trail behind the Roadmaster.

We used to call it the snail.
