"Not his normal route."  Ya think?

Love the snapshot of the hood rat with his pants hanging off his @$# trying to walk out.

Maybe Greyhound drivers are not quite as sharp as they used to be.  ::)

What an idiot, taking a 45,000 lb plus bus on a dirt atv trail. What did he think was going to happen when he bottomed out on the ruts etc.

Is this another case of blindly trusting a GPS or nav system?   As I've mentioned before, nothing beats having a good map and a compass, but I think it's safe to assume he wouldn't know how to use them anyway . . .

The article I read about it said the driver was a women, not a man.
(you know a man would have stopped and asked for directions sooner)

True to your screen name, and being on the younger side of y'all it is stuff like this that has me reevaluating my active participation here.

Just out of curiosity, how far does a GH driver usually drive, in other words how far does he/she travel from his/her home base?   Or do they tag-team, with one resting in a bedroom below the floor?   I'm still trying to imagine any scenario that a bus driver would ever think it appropriate to detour off a paved highway, unless it was a genuine emergency.   Surely by the time a bus is in desert terrain it would have a driver who's familiar with deserts and who would know that desert sand and heavy vehicles is not a happy combination.   Very strange.

I drove for the Hound for 32 years, something not quite right here, sounds like it was done on purpose, not just a lost driver.

Just a side note, this company has really gone downhill since first Laidlaw and then First Group became involved. I was there when all this went down, was a senior instructor for many years. Centralizing dispatch is one reason this could of happened, spareboards covering other divisions without proper route training is another. Sending a driver down the road with little guidance in the middle of the night is asking for trouble.

I'm with that idea. I think she was having some breakdown since she just kept driving and crashing and banging it up. That all was intentional. But if the quality of drivers has gone down that much, I'll be taking Uber from now on. LOL

Uncle Augie, I don't know you or anything about you so I am going to try and not hurt your feelings.
I do know Craig and many others here on this and every other busnut board there is.
And to be quite honest with you I think you are being just a tad sensitive and maybe even wearing your feelings on your shirt sleeves. Many of us here contribute lots and lots of assistance and help for other busnuts new, old, smart, not to bright and everything in between.

And most of us are of an age where we were raised to either get pants that fit or wear a belt so that our pants don't hang down past our knees exposing our underwear and other things. Personally I can't stand it when I see them wearing them like that and just assume they are just trying to show other excons they are available for anal sex as that is where that practice originated.

Please do take off the wife beater sleeveless shirts and put on a t shirt or long sleeve shirt and stick around for a while!

Really there are a bunch of us here that love helping others.
(and well yes a couple wise asses like Craig and I too!)

If you can't be comfortable sticking around with us, I'm sorry and goodbye.
(just besure to pull those pants up before the door hits ya where the good lord split ya!)
