Know of anybody in the Kingman AZ area that does DDEC reprogramming? Currently set at 330/350 & 1250. I know Detroit offered a stock program up to 365/1350 for the 11.1 and I would like to take advantage of that.

If you can find somebody with the HP you are looking for all you need is the engine serial number and DD will reprogram your computer to the new serial number.

I don't think DD will do that program without knowing if your 11.1 has had all the updates,I can get it done for you in Vegas at independent shop but he is legal he pays his 600 bucks a years for the license  so I'll call you later today

When I had the bus at Smith Diesel in Boise last year that was an option they had on the computer per DD. The tech talked me out of it because the 365/1350 was @1800 rpm. I found a few shops online that will crank it up farther than that, but I'm not interested in building a $20k bomb. Detroit was comfortable going up to 365/1350 so that's as far as I'll go.

They really were not comfortable going to 365 unless they had the upgraded head bolts, and some like the 2 I had in trucks the blow by out the vent tube was nasty

They ran my serial # and they showed the 365 being approved. Don't know if that means anything or not. Maybe I should just leave it at  the 330/350? I really don't want to create any problems down the road.

Ok all the updates are in place on your engine go for it,you have the new head bolts and pistons.I don't like to up the HP on older engines to many unknowns it doesn't take much to push one over the cliff. If the engine is happy I personally would leave it alone

I think I will take your advice and leave it alone Clifford. I have no idea what if anything has been done to this engine. Miles on the ECM is 1.1 million and for all I know it could be all original miles on the mil. Better safe than sorry. If I ever have to do a rebuild i might revisit the issue.

Just leave it?

In a blind test, you'd not notice any difference, and after spending ca$h, you'll be unhappy.

And HP = fuel burn, but in this case, peanuts...

Be sure you know exactly how yours is already set, so you can get what you need... Is the bigger power under the pedal or under the cruise?

Turning that off would be a nice adjustment...

happy coaching!

330 on the pedal, 350 on the cruize. The 365 would be full power on the pedal and tq would bump up from 1250 to 1350. I would think you might notice a little difference in hill pulling. Not worth it though if it comes at the expense of decreased engine life.

Clifford I will be pulling out sometime early next week, just waiting on my radiator. Supposed to be finished today.
