Hey guys,
I wanted to post this link to maybe the best tutorial of rebuild of a Eagle Bus I ever seen.  There is over 400 photos to enjoy and I sure did.  It brings back many, many memories to me.  anyhow hope you enjoy this labor of love to resurrect a Eagle the right way.

I copied most of the pictures, they make an excellent addition to my Eagle Manuals. There are drawings of the frame in the manual, but these pictures fill in the missing information when it comes to understanding where everything is located. This project amounts to a factory-like reconstruction that is extreme overkill that not everyone could do or afford, but the owner must feel very satisfied and proud. I wonder how many months it took to do everything.

I think that when two folks are posting at the same time, the slightly later post never makes it to forum.

Wow.  Thank you.  So many pictures.  That is a labour of love.  :)

Wow! that is an amazing job. I would love to have the time and space to do a job like that, but we want to use our bus, this year. He set the bar pretty high, hard to come close to that.

I have seen many of Eagles in farmers barns where it would take them years to rebuild it ,on the EI board on the project page take a peek at Wayne's model 15 he just about did build a Eagle

I have to agree with Cliff, Wayne Schell's 1994 #15 X45' long just has to be the best re-engineered Eagle ever.  Wayne just has to be one of the two top bus engineers ever!  Here is a direct link to go see Wayne's project on (EI Eagles International Web site).  Get a pot of coffee on a rainy day, some snacks to keep you going and read each and every entry as you stroll into a world of engineering that only busnuts will appreciate as you stroll through Wayne's World.  with the information above I posted and combining Wayne's web site you will have every bit of information to rebuilding / refurbishing a EAGLE that your system can handle.  God I am so impressed with Wayne's bus he is manufacturing, the money investment has to be in the many, many thousands of dollars but there is not one bus manufactured including (Prevost) that will compare to the quality of Wayne's Eagle Bus.

I think this way on my bus but there is no way to compete my project with Wayne's as his knowledge is way above mine by light years in fact.  I can go on and on about Wayne's project, I hope I live long enough to see the completion, in his and mine!

You have to enjoy this, What a project.  I sure bow down to the Busnut Engineering Kingpin here.

I don't have Facebook at all, and I saw all of the pictures. Just ignore the Facebook sign-in, and click on the pictures.

Gary,

Enquiring minds want to know(well maybe just me because I am extremely curious)---How is your conversion going?!!

I checked your site recently, but it is a couple of years old.

Thanks!

Steve,
Thanks for the inquiry on my bus conversion.  I have had a lot of bad luck since last July, I had a lot of health issues arise and I have not gotten back to the old Gary as yet.  I had my left knee totally replaced last August at the age of 71, pain sucks for that age, or at least I am a total whimp.  Then It was discovered I needed surgery on my neck, (C-6 & C-7) sections as well as a stomach hernia.  So on the same day, nearly 2 weeks ago, I had both of those surgeries.  These put you down at any hard labor for a while and I am bored sick.  In Between those dates I was called as a consultant at my old job I had before I retired 14 years ago to help them out and of coarse the offer was hard to refuse.

I need maybe 4-5 weeks to get back on the bus, I did finish remodeling the back bedroom and opening up another window in the bedroom on the curb side.  (Hidden by PO with sheet metal).  That kept me a little busy but it won't be much longer and I will crank up the 8V and back out the bus daily to start getting ready for body work etc. outside the shop.  But age has sure caught up with me, FAST, and all this medical stuff has drained me mentally as well as physically.  I have maybe 8 months more of rigorous work to have the bus road worthy, so I can only hope that that will happen.

A stomach aneurysm has also been discovered during my last surgery which measures 2.9 MM or something like that and if it reaches 5.0, yep, surgery again!! This was discovered about 2 years ago and I was not informed until surgery a couple of weeks ago.  I get scoped for that measurement this Saturday again to see what kind of growth has happened!!

I only hope I get to use the bus for a short time anyhow after all this work and years.  You have lots of information from me, from the other Eagle photos above that I posted about and the (Eagles-International)  website with Wayne Schell's bus.  I don't think you can get any more information than those places that will either help you, or discourage you which I do not want to do.

Anyhow that is how things look right now, maybe a prayer from friends will help get me back to myself to finish this project and enjoy it somewhat.
Thanks again for inquiring.

Gary,

We have a lot in common, we are both the same age, I've had a few surgeries, and I've got extra metal in my right leg, but I keep on plugging away. It will get better, just think of the cruising you are finally going to be able to do. You don't have to be completely finished to go out and have fun, and it is okay if there are a few spots of rust on the frame.  ;D

Gary,

Please listen to the doctors and take your time with your recovery!  As I watch other folks' conversions, I envy the determination it takes to just get as far as you have on your Eagle.  You are a true inspiration!  I think sometimes what slows us down is 'sacrificing good for perfect'.  I would love to be close enough to help out on weekends, but---  maybe I could come help when you are better for a week and enjoy the Great Deep South.

Ned,

I am thinking about going to Evansville, and will have to see how the finances look when it gets closer.  Also, it is during the school year, and the little girl is only a Junior in High School, so she couldn't come.  I retired from my part-time job, but I don't get a check until age 60, and since I am still a youngster(54) that will be a few years, I lost a good chunk of income.
