Well I just got back from making my first trip from NY to Florida and back with my 102A3.  We put 2300 miles on it and  only had one small unresolved issue show up. the bus ran better than expected. I have to say I was a little nervous, but I am glad I spent the extra time and money, bring the bus up to top running condition. It ran consistently at 175-180, with it peaking at 185 a few times while climbing the hills in PA. I was a little concerned about it burning oil, but I only went through 3 quarts for the whole trip. I had about 300 miles in on driving the bus prior to this trip and was fairly comfortable driving it. It drove like a completely different vehicle since I had all the suspension work and new tires put on. I haven't enjoyed cross country driving in quite a while, but this brought me that enjoyment back. I also did learn that you really need to respect the bus with what it can and can't do. All in all I am really pleased with how everything worked and the bus worked better than expected.

Good for you.  They are a pleasure to drive when the suspension and tires are in top condition.  I raised and leveled my Eagle last summer, drove it from San Antonio to Yosemite and back.  Hadn't been adjusted since 2003, and it made such a difference in handling.  I've had my bus since 2000 and put over 90k miles on it.

Keep driving it and enjoy the ride.

Congratulations. I am a tad over 8000 miles into my first trip and still 3000 miles from home. I too put on new tires and airbags on my 5B before departure and love driving it.
